About Us

Q: What makes White Lotus Farms distinctive?

For us farming is right livelihood where we put mindfulness and compassion into action. We take care to make sure that all of our products are made, packaged and sold in a way that upholds our standard of excellence and values as a Buddhist community

On the farm, we use the most recent advances in organic and sustainable methods and treat all of our animals with dignity and love. We want them to be happy!

Each year, we donate thousands of pounds of produce to Food Gatherers to help create food security for all members of our community.

Q: Do you offer any classes or workshops?

Many new classes will be coming in 2019. Cheese making. Bread baking. Goat care. And more!

Q: Where are you located?

We are located at 7217 W. Liberty Rd., to the west of Ann Arbor. We are just 10 minutes from both downtown Ann Arbor and Dexter.

Q: When are you open?

We are open Saturdays at our farm cart currently located in the greenhouse and weekly at many local markets.

Q: Do you offer tours?

Yes. Check out our classes and tours page here.

Q: What is "artisan"?

The word "artisanal" is tossed about a lot these days, used as a commercial gimmick, but here on the farm we mean it, and the results can be tasted in our products.

For us, "artisan" is handcrafting our products in small batches with the utmost care and attention. We have purposefully chosen to forsake the wholesale model so that we can remain at a small scale which upholds our exacting standards.

Q: Do you offer milk shares?

No, at this time we do not.

Q: Do you have goats for sale?

Yes! We sell high-quality, champion-bred ADGA registered Nigerian Dwarf goats and La Mancha goats. Please contact us at goats@whitelotusfarms.com.

Q: Are your eggs free-range?

Yes! But more importantly they are pasture raised. Free Range and Cage Free are terms that have been co-opted by factory farms which cram chickens into open floor barns or give them tiny squares of grass for hundreds of chickens. Processes that are still inhumane and unhealthy.

Q: Do you offer wholesale?

We do not. We have made a choice to only sell at farmer's markets. We make a premium quality product and sell it for a fair price. Restaurants are welcome to buy our products at the market.

Q: Do you have plants for sale?

Not right now.

Q: Do you accept volunteers?

Yes!  If you are interested in volunteering please contact us at info@whitelotusfarms.com
